Claude Vonstroke - Vocal Chords
Out of San Francisco, Barclay Crenshaw, aka Claude Von Stroke is behind a number of interesting productions lately. Vocal Chords is particularly impressive. It's essentially an exploration of digital vocal patterns in arpeggiated form. One of its most distinctive characteristics is the sound palette employed. Using crisp synth-choir samples, a unique and memorable musical journey ensues, the climax arriving as the arpeggiated notes form a full chord (a nod to the track's title). With its bleak tone and key structure that's never truly major or minor (for very long) Vocal Chords is both an alluring and memorable production.
