Bertie Blackman - Byrds of Prey (TV Rock Remix)
Bertie Blackman, the Australian singer-songwriter rose to fame with her debut album Headway in 2004. Her latest release Byrds of Prey is a powerful and emotive track. Here, dance outfit TV Rock made up of Australians Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough, offer a remix alternative. And it's a very impressive remix to say the least. A beautiful synth-chord phrase creates a soaring melodic break that's stunning at club volume. As Blackman's tightly packed harmonies fit into the picture, something atmospheric and magical emerges. This is a great remix that has enough emotional capacity to lock your attention and enough driving percussive intensity to send a dancefloor into a frenzy. Overall, a solid and admirable reworking.
