Norman Doray - Tobita

Norman Doray started DJing in 2002 in several clubs near his hometown in the west of France, earning a residency in 2003 in Lille. From here he's moved quickly up the ranks, DJing with David Guetta at Pacha and The Swedish House Mafia at Papaya to name a few. Doray's remix bibliography is also impressive. Tobita, a brand new solo project, is a powerful Main Room anthem designed to drive a crowd bananas. Things kick off with pulsing synth melodies and driving house percussion, creating a kind of musical mania and a sense that something's going to happen. And something does happen. At the peak of the track, descending solo string chords create an exciting call-to-action. This is quickly followed up by a speaker-blowing digital grow that preempts the full return of house percussion. It's a powerful one! Tobita was labeled this week's Essential New Tune by Pete Tong and will no doubt become a worldwide club phenomenon over the next couple of weeks.
