Florence and the Machine - Cosmic Love
As a side note, I never got over the greatness of Leo Zero's remix of their song "Rabbit Heart", check it out if you haven't already.
This is new from British sensation Florence And The Machine and is apparently featured on a commercial over in the UK. It doesn't fit neatly into any particular genre, which is part of its uniqueness. Stunningly powerful vocals, accompanied with a beautifully compelling orchestral backing make for some mesmerising material. To echo the theme of "twilight" perhaps, areas of musical light and shade are explored. The latter being charmingly calm sections of cinematic harp melodies, complete with soothing vocals (eg:2:07). And then to contrast this, the fully-powered chorus, with belted vocals, hard percussion and unharnessed symphonic orchestration (eg:2:36). Overall, an almost perfect production and truly great music. I'm looking forward to the remixes!
