Michael Woods - Drop Zone (Club Mix)
It's always so refreshing to hear something this different. Drop Zone, uses the conventions of progressive house but its musicality is particularly unique. There is no conventional key structure, as Woods transposes listeners from one chord to another, each as musically unexpected as the next. And the chords are varied from major to minor just to add further key confusion. But the result is powerful - you can never quite predict what is going to happen next. This concept is heightened when Woods introduces silence for a good two bars before returning the beats. Also interesting are the sonic crescendos and pitch-bend effects. Overall, the attempts to try something new pay off and make for a distinctive record. Thumbs up.

Indeed nice track, but sounds sometimes familiar to those older trance tracks like Orange Theme and Barber's Adagio
