Dirty Vegas - Tonight (Above & Beyond Mix)

Above and Beyond's showcase remix of Tonight lives up to its reputation. There's a sparkle and a technical competence to this track that really makes it stand out from the crowd. Tone-wise this is Armin Van Buuren territory, soothing and reflective synth chords pulse over a bed of apreggiated countermelodies. The vocals fit perfectly into the mix and there are plenty of well thought out rise and fall sections. The most musically interesting moments come with the bassline shift (first seen at 2:12). Here the key of the track is shifted by slipping the sustained bassline to higher note, while everything else remains the same. Subtle but effective. Overall, a very pleasant and well produced listening experience.
