Grum - Sound Reaction (Original Mix)

"Watch the moving bodies, as they re-act to the sound"! There's a great Daft-Punk influence on this new release from Grum. Filtering and distortion effects coupled with huge sonic grows are the centerpiece of Sound Reaction. They create some intense dancefloor build-ups and are very effective. When the track reaches its maximum ferocity, a well-written bass-led melody is introduced which meshes the layers of sound together perfectly. I think what interests me most is Grum's blurring of the lines between instrumentation and sound effects - melodies made of distorted effects and crisp sonic samples used in non-harmonic ways. Overall, an admirable production.
