Audiojack - Radio

Fresh stuff! Radio plays with a simple enough idea - taking the detuning and static-like emissions of an analogue radio and accompanying them with a pounding dancefloor-friendly bassline. The concept is well-executed and, although minimal in musicality, there's a large amount of variation to keep things interesting. An unusual siren-like motif is introduced about two-thirds of the way through, which works well with the consistent bassline. Audiojack also play with expectations to surprise the listener: samples cut in and out; there's an effective use of silence at times; and I like the addition of tone "bleeps", working like a kind of electronic drum fill. Overall, an impressive production.
