U2 - Magnificent (Pete Tong & Paul Rogers Mix)

This made my day. Pete Tong and Paul Rogers collaborate on this compelling and musically absorbing remix. The track is based upon a simple, harmonically unusual melody, that's complicated (in a good way) with a complimentary bassline, strings, and counter-melodies. The overall effect is a unique and ear-pleasing mesh of harmonies that sit perfectly with the U2 vocals - almost as if they were written for the remix! Like many great remixes, this chooses to take few elements from the original, instead focusing on new elements, creating a powerful and masterfully crafted alternative.
