Harry Choo Choo Romero - Jumped (Original Mix)
In Harry's own words, "I was born and raised in New Jersey...[and] have been exposed to music my entire life. Everything from classical, disco, flamenco, salsa, cumbia, merengue, mapale, rock, punk, hip hop, new wave, jazz". There's a nod to his cross-genre interests in Jumped. Romero skillfully cross-pollinates house genres with filtered orchestral wackiness, using, most notably, a section made famous by Todd Terry's Keep On Jumping. Nice touches include the reverb-soaked brass stabs with squeeky synth elements that build tension effectively before stomping percussion drops hard. Overall, there's a solid, no-nonsense attitude on offer here that's perfect for the right dancefloor.
