BEST OF 2009: Deadmau5 - Lack Of A Better Name
It's been a huge year for dance music. Over the next ten days we're going to look back at the largest tracks of 2009, as featured on Large Weekend.
This somber and beautiful production from Deadmau5 was pretty hard to top in 2009. Soothing string chords swell from the start, with a minor key piano motif that repeats throughout. A filmic atmosphere is created that grows as musically compatible electronic pulses are introduced. And just as the intense crescendo reaches its peak, the strings are replaced by pounding Deadmau5 percussion. A refreshingly different 2009 release.
