Above And Beyond - Anjuna Beach (Original Mix)

Large tune alert! Above and Beyond's beautifully produced Anjuna Beach is quite superb. Firmly in progressive house territory, a musical journey is flawlessly crafted. One of the real strengths of Anjuna Beach is its freshness. There are no stale trance tricks or overused build-ups, everything sounds crisp and new. A lot of care has gone into maintaining a tasteful and restrained production sensibility. Two basic melodic themes are on offer. A minor key motif builds early on, creating a kind of tension bed that leaves you wondering where you're going to be taken. This first section then gently leads the way to the main theme (2:55). This second, dominant theme, is of the happier variety with some beautiful synth and string instrumentation. Next up is a stunningly fresh crescendo section as reverb-soaked hand-claps and subtle sonic grows lead to a glorious rendition of the main melody, now with bassline. A truly first rate production from Above and Above.
