Steve Angello - Monday (Vocal Mix)

According to a recent press release "the momentum has been building on Steve Angello's music for some time". That actually sums it up nicely. With release after release he's proving to be a first rate production machine. Angello's found a back-to-basics formula that works well for him - take a simple but catchy melody and let it drive the track. Monday (Original Mix) does little more than loop an alluring minor key phrase. But the Vocal Mix featured here is developed further. A growing intro section uses an ascending melody that leads crisply to the track's main theme. And generally the vocals help add variation and areas of light and shade. At the midway point a capella effects lead to an impressive unaccompanied rendition of the central synth melody. It's a great dancefloor breakdown that leads to the full return of percussion. Overall, well-crafted main room material.
