Scarlette Fever - You Don't Know My Name (Justin Wilkes Horizontal Remix)
Scarlette Fever is a new UK musical act with some captivating productions. You Don’t Know My Name caught my ear, partly because of its use of John Barry's Midnight Cowboy, a hauntingly memorable soundtrack song that mixes pedal steel with its drifting melodies. Barry, the veteran soundtrack legend apaprently approved the use of the sample and has collaborated with Scarlette on other projects. The remix featured below by Justin Wilkes retains the original's lyrics and opts for a dreamy electronic alternative to the sampled backing. Drawing on the floating tone captured by Scarlette's singing style, the remix makes for a great ambient production - and first rate end of the night material.
