Gossip - Love Long Distance (Riva Starr Remix)

Gossip get the remix treatment here from Riva Starr. The original is strong and soulful as beautifully passionate vocals accompany a disco-influenced piano and bass backing. In the remix, the percussion is replaced with house-tempo beats and digital effects are used heavily on the vocals. Cutting, repeating snippets of singing and pitch-bending all work well to add a new layer of mania. Further changes include the looping of the piano chords, effectively stripping out much of the musicality for a more restrained approach. There's a Fake Blood remix also doing the rounds.
