Empire of The Sun - We Are The People (Wawa Mix)

Giving Empire Of The Sun's "We Are The People" to any remixer is a great gift - the original is such a polished gem, unique in tone and powerfully put together. There have been a number of great remixes of this track and Wawa's is perhaps less known than the others. It retains many of the elements that make the original great - the guitar strumming verse, the musicality of the chorus. But they focus in one musical phrase in particular and enhance it for floors - adding piano chords, string accompaniments and a driving bassline. This approach works perfectly - adding a new euphoric feel to the song, a repackaging of sorts - bigger, brighter, happier - crafted for a "hands in the air" moment. Great job.
