Alex Metric - Head Straight

This is a great crossover hit from Alex Metric. It's not quite a dance music track by the usual definition, but it's not incompatible either. Powerfully upbeat in tone, Metric uses retro instrumentation and a unusual combination of melodic percussion and traditional bass and string elements. I love the multi-layered vocals and the constant variation in the production - cutting out of the percussion to add a crescendo, the interesting drum fills, the unexpected synth chords towards the end. Overall a well written and energetic summer hit.
