Little Boots - New In Town (Fred Falke Remix)

A great remix and reversioning from Falke! Taking the rather good Little Boots hit and reworking it for dancefloors is harder that you'd think. Yet even with a house friendly tempo the vocals don't seem over-stretched and musically it's first rate. New In Town has all the hallmarks of a good remix; it works as a track in its own right, it uses elements from the original but brings much more to the table; and it has massive dancability. I find the musicality the most interesting: there's a brand new chord structure and synth melody that works so well with the vocals you'd think it was originally written that way. Falke's a master at moving crowds and the massive mid-way build is a great example of this. A skillful and superbly executed remix.
