This is a tune with a huge amount of hype surrounding it, and it's deserved. Gervais continues in his quest to expand dance music, taking it beyond the dancefloors and DJ sets where it's typically made to measure. This is a tune that stands up on its own, rich with musical complexity and executed with sophistication. It's reminiscent of other great works, but has a unique quality at the same time, with its simple chord structure that's complicated and built upon as the track progresses. In this way it's similar to classical composers like Phillip Glass who become fascinated with a single musical phrase and repeat it over and over with increasingly complex melodic additions. I wonder if the idea came from a dream... Great stuff!
